ThePreselection
Today in our series “ZYC Explains,” part 6: The Preselection.
The preselection is the first step of The Contest. All participants submitted a short video and an accompanying text so the jury could get a first impression of how they play, sound, and express themselves artistically.
We are now in the phase where the jury carefully reviews all the videos. For each individual video, the jury takes time to perceive musicality, expression, and personality – always in an age-appropriate way and in line with each participant's stage of development. Video quality plays no decisive role here: a quiet room, clear visibility, and an authentic performance are entirely sufficient. Once all videos have been reviewed, we will inform participants in writing about admission to the live qualification round.
The results of the preselection will be sent out by December 8, 2025 at the latest.
