A new year has begun – we hope you had a restful holiday season and started 2026 off well.
As the year begins, ZYC is opening a new editorial focus: “Jury Code: Our Guidelines for Listening.” In these posts, we share something that matters deeply to us at ZYC: the mindset behind how our jury listens, evaluates, and gives feedback – not as a rulebook, but as guidance.
Today's focus: Jury Code #1 – Your Individual Benchmark. At ZYC, you're not measured against a general standard. What matters is what you set out to achieve yourself. It's not objective difficulty that counts, but how authentically, personally, and honestly you engage with your musical task – always in the context of your stage of development.
With Jury Code, we make visible what ZYC stands for: open, development-oriented listening and space for your own artistic path.
