Support for young talent often ends with the awards ceremony. Zurich Youth Classical picks up exactly where the real challenges begin: building an artistic profile, moving on to a degree program, and taking the step into professional life.

Schweizer Musikzeitung has published an in-depth article on the development model. It traces how the conditions for young musicians have shifted – earlier training paths, international platforms, and decisive choices made at an ever younger age – and describes how ZYC responds: with The Contest as a starting point, The Cadenza together with the Side-by-Side Project for deeper development, and The Crescendo as a bridge into professional musical life. It also discusses the very different paths taken by the first participants, from preparing for university studies to starting a degree program.
